The Demand to Remove the Bust of Christopher Columbus in Lancaster Shows This Isn’t About BLM or Police Brutality – It’s an Ethnic Cleansing of Western Civilization
Earlier this week Democrat County Commissioner Craig Lehman called for the removal of the bust of Christopher Columbus from Lenox Lane behind the old county courthouse.
The statue had vandalized with spray paint and chipped with a sharp tool by people motivated by a hatred of European American history.
What’s driving this is not outrage over an incident of police brutality. No, this is motivated by a want for revenge from those whose history fails to measure up to the achievements of Western civilization.
This is seething envy, pure and simple.
Columbus represents the best spirit of European exploration. He’s the man who opened up the West, allowing the arrival of civilization to the Americas. There was no America before Europeans came and pioneered this land, carving out a beacon of hope in a theretofore land of Neolithic nomads for whom the wheel was undiscovered technology.
The ultimate irony of the push to remove Columbus in Lancaster is the very dedication inscription on the bust that these Talibanish thugs want to destroy.
“With the discovery of America, people from all nations came to these shores to live and prosper. With God’s guidance they built the greatest republic in the world. To honor Christopher Columbus is to honor America.”
Calls to remove historical monuments to politically incorrect American heroes have moved from attacking honorable Confederate patriots to now calling for the removal of a Thomas Jefferson statue in New York City and the toppling of a George Washington statue in Portland.
The LNP today ran an editorial today from someone who thinks “Juneteenth” should replace Independence Day.
If you think this new barbarian horde intent on destroying Western civilization will end if we just surrender a little more heritage, take down one more statue, you are mistaken.
It will never be enough. The only answer is to plant our feet and say “No more.”
